It works in Hampshire to:
- Challenge services to improve
- Influence decision makers to improve local services
- Celebrate the things that go well for patients
- Inform and support people that need help to find the right services for them or need help though the complaints process.
Healthwatch exists in two distinct forms – local Healthwatch and Healthwatch England, at national level. The aim of local Healthwatch is to give citizens and communities a stronger voice to influence and challenge how health and social care services are provided locally.
Healthwatch seeks the views of local people on local services and then shares these with the CCG and NHS providers so we can improve services for our communities. Healthwatch also supports the CCG with our work including being members of our Communications, Engagement and Involvement Forum (CIEF), promoting engagement opportunities to its members and networks, and carrying out projects for the local NHS, details of these are available on its website.
For more information please visit the Hampshire Healthwatch website, where you will find details on how to get in touch with Healthwatch, speak out or become a Healthwatch Champion. Alternatively you can call them on 01962 440262 or find them at your local Citizens Advice Bureau.
